10.00am: Drive to Dandenong Ranges. The lush Dandenong Ranges National Park provide an ideal escape from urban Melbourne. Among these low mountains–which rise to 633 m (2,076 ft)–you’ll find a dense temperate rainforest of towering mountain ash trees. Colorful with flowers in spring, deep green in summer, and occasionally snow-dusted in winter, the area offers numerous activities and charming villages. Head to SkyHigh atop Mount Dandenong for views back to Melbourne. Stop and smell the flowers at the National Rhododendron Gardens or hike through dense stands of soaring mountain ash trees in Sherbrooke Forest. Wander around the shops and galleries in Olinda, Belgrave, and Sassafras. If you want to spend a night or two, reserve a cottage or guesthouse nestled in the woods near one of the area’s friendly towns

Ride on Puffing Billy Steam Train (Train Fare included in package). Take a ride back to a bygone era on Puffing Billy Railway. One of the world’s best-preserved steam railways takes you 25.1 km (15.6 mi) from Belgrave to Gembrook, through the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. The open-sided carriages of this century-old steam train deliver unobstructed views of the surrounding emerald temperate forest. Although the line is relatively short, the ride moves at a leisurely pace, leaving you plenty of time to soak in the scenery

Drive to Mount Buller. Mount Buller is a town located in the Shire of Mansfield in the Alpine region of the Australian state of Victoria. The town is located approximately east of Melbourne on the slopes of Mount Buller.Primarily a resort town, Mount Buller is popular with snowsports enthusiasts in winter due to its close location to Melbourne. At the, Mount Buller had a population of 242.The Mount Buller Alpine Resort is an unincorporated area of Victoria; the larger surrounding locality of Mount Buller is part of the Shire of Mansfield.Mount Buller villageThe town has around 7000 beds available in accommodation facilities, the most of any Victorian ski resort. La Trobe University had a minor campus at Mount Buller. The campus facilities included a public cinema, gym and indoor sporting facilities. La Trobe has vacated the mountain, however the Resort Management Board is now using the building, better known as the Mount Buller Community Centre, as its home. All facilities are still operational, with the cinema, gym and sports hall open all year round. Mount Buller is also the home of the National Alpine Museum.The area between Mount Buller and Mount Stirling is the primary catchment for the Delatite River.
